I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend filled with fabulous style and yummy food. I took a mini vacation myself and now I'm ready for more fashion!
Last week I started talking about an hourglass shape and the types of tops, jackets and dresses that worked best. So if you missed last week's post, click here to read about my style tips!
What I'm covering today:
- Skirts
- Pants
- Fabrics
- Accessories
Skirts: 1) Full Skirts (worn higher on waist) 2) Tulip Skirt 3) Pencil Skirt 4) A-line Skirt 5) Peplum Skirt
* Style Tip: For those who are short-waisted like me, do not tuck your shirt in or else it will cut you in half causing you to look shorter & call attention to your mid-section.
- Advice from Tim Gunn, fashion consultant & TV personality
Pants: 1) High-waisted Pant 2) Slightly Wider Trouser 3) High-rise Denim 4) Flare Denim 5) Slim/Straight Leg Denim
Accessories
- Belts! - key accessory that will emphasize and show off an hourglass shape
- Statement Necklaces- hit below collarbone & above the bust
Fabrics
- Monochromatic colors- all colors (tints, tones, shades) of a single hue
- Softer knits that accentuate the hourglass shape
- Flowy silks that drape close to (but do not cling) the hourglass frame
This concludes my Fashion Focus for the hourglass shape! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
